The third quarter of 2023 saw notable activity in the navigation and maps category on the Android platform in Russia. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top five apps in this category, according to data from Sensor Tower.
Yandex Maps and Navigator remained a dominant force throughout Q3 2023. Weekly downloads started at approximately 227K at the end of June and gradually decreased to around 147K by the end of September. The app’s active user base was robust, with a peak of about 10.8M in the last week of August and ending the quarter at around 10.5M.
Yandex Navigator also showed strong performance. Weekly downloads began at about 143K and saw a decline to 93K by the end of the quarter. Active users fluctuated slightly, starting at around 2.7M and ending the quarter at approximately 2.6M.
GPS АнтиРадар (радар-детектор) maintained a steady download rate, starting at 32K in late June and ending at 28K in late September. Active users saw a slight increase from approximately 76K to 79K over the same period.
Double GIS experienced a remarkable increase in downloads, starting at 4.4K in early September and skyrocketing to 127K by the end of the month. Active users also surged, from about 3.7K to nearly 200K in the same timeframe.
Антирадар HUD Speed had consistent download numbers, beginning at 17.6K and ending at 17.3K. Active user numbers were relatively stable, starting at around 35.4K and concluding the quarter at 38.6K.
